Life in the Fast Lane

Beck & Pollitzer has provided expert support in the automotive sector for generations. We even provided support in the 1900s, when the company was primarily an exhibition specialist!

This week’s ThrowbackThursday is from 1905. It shows a stand erected and decorated by Beck & Pollitzer for Elliott: an electrical instruments company (est. 1804) who were later known as the Elliott Brothers.

The stand displays a range of Elliott speedometers, which were considered pioneering work at the time. This range featured in many classic cars, including the Rolls Royce Silver Ghost (1908). As expected, the speedometers are now rare and rather valuable, available at auction for thousands a piece.

Nowadays, Beck & Pollitzer Group provides a different kind of support to the automotive sector. We specialise in global industrial installation and machinery relocation services, and our clients range from top international manufacturers to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
